1st in Class at NORRA 500!
Share
For the very first time, we went racing on the Baja Peninsula....and it didn't disappoint. The NORRA 500 is a two-day race which took us from Ensenada to San Felipe and then back.
Instead of pre-running the course, we were given a road book and a supporting GPS file with each tulip note marked. Our first time using a road book was met with some confidence thanks to recent training we undertook from Rhiannon and Alex Gelsomino from OzRallyPro.
Due to other last minute commitments, Bailey was not able to join us. But we were able to race with Barry Smethurst from Road Runner Offroad.
Racing through different terrain from pine forests, sandy creek beds, rocky hill climbs and the San Felipe woops. Each Day presented unique and challenging Special Stages.
It was an absolutely pleasant surprise to claim 1st in Class!
We had fun putting our tastebuds to the test with Yokohama:
We've got the Mexican 1000 pencilled in for next year and we just can't wait to get back down there, enjoy some tacos, and explore more of Baja.
