Announced only a fortnight ago was the awesome news that all our hard work in 2024 paid off and Bailey Cole Racing were announced as the winners of the 4600 Ultra National Championship.
Racing in the Ford Performance Jegs Bronco, we had a successful year with a few 'moments' along the way! Starting at King of the Hammers, Bailey & Jeremy found a rock less than a mile from the start line and inadvertently claimed 'first finishers' of the Limited Desert Challenge. It was not a checkered flag finish, but instead a DNF.
The damage inflicted by that rock was substantial and to make matters worse, we were not the only team whose race was ended by that rock.
With only a few days to find parts, undertake repairs, and then put the front of the Bronco back together, the team sacrificed sleep and relied heavily on the express post feature. Thankfully, we were also able to source quite a few components from others on the lakebed as well and we had it all fixed in time for the Every Man Challenge.
We did claim the top step in the 4600 class, however Bailey brought the Bronco in with no Co Driver and no Co Driver door! Bailey and Jeremy had had a hell of a day on the trails, the Bronco took some serious abuse but refused to quit, eventually losing 4WD on the second or third last trail.
From KOH, we headed to NorCal Stampede, one of the greatest rock racing short courses on the Ultra4 schedule! Plenty of close quarter racing with fellow Bronco team mates, yet Bailey proved he was the best wheel man on the day, with great Spotter support from Amy, and hot pit support from Jack & Jeremy.
Together we claimed victory in 4600 class and Bailey came close to winning the Casino Go Kart racing! It was an epic weekend, with awesome action from every class across Ultra4.
The next race on the U4 Schedule was BITD Vegas to Reno, it was really great to hit the track with a wide range of desert race vehicles and tackle 555 miles of Nevada 'outback'! We had a day of minimal issues with the Bronco, kept a solid pace and led the 4600 class after the first 30 minutes.
Jack and Bailey shared driving responsibilities, while Amy & Jeremy took turns in the Navi seat. Each Driver & Navi spent time racing together, and we were supported by a fantastic crew.
